Senegal has trained 120 ‘eco-policemen’ to fight the traffic and illegal street sellers in Dakar. The new officers’ work will be accompanied by a vast sensitizing campaign addressed at citizens. “No violence and no coercion” promised the Senegalese Minister of the Environment, “but a dialogue to make sure traffic circulates and that everyone can lead a better life” .
