27 POLICE AGENTS INJURED IN BELFAST CLASHES

Twenty-seven police officers were hurt during a night of violent rioting with Catholic protesters in Belfast. Three officers were shot. Protesters also launched some petrol bombs. The 11th night has been at risk for unrest for decades. The Protestant community traditionally commemorates the battle of the Boyne, marking the victory of Protestant William of Orange over the Catholic King James II, the last Catholic monarch to reign over England, Ireland and Scotland.
