A close TV debate was broadcast after Serra reduced the gap in polls to 7% from Rousseff in the second ballot. The centre-right candidate has recovered 13 points in the race against outgoing president De Silva’s heir apparent and in the TV debate accused the opponent of being incoherent on issues such as abortion and faith.
