Jerusalem – 35 Ashkenazi Jews spent a first night in jail after refusing to send their daughters to a Sephardi school. In the meantime, it is up to a judge to decide the fate of 22 mothers of Ashkenazi girls at a religious school in the Emmanuel settlement in the occupied West Bank. They may well also be sent to prison, but have made a plea for house arrest in order to take care of their families at home.
