The comment came from Igor Sechin, deputy prime minister and the country’s energy tsar, who is set to meet the oil company’s managing director in Moscow this afternoon. However, a BP spokesman denied the news, saying: “Tony Hayward remains chief executive officer. No change to that position is under discussion.”
