BP has ruled out fixing the well which is spewing oil from the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico before August. BP’s plans have been hampered by the region’s ongoing hurricane season. In the meantime, the company’s CEO, Tony Hayward, flew to Abu Dhabi, thus fuelling speculation that the British oil company is seeking support from sovereign funds in the Gulf area.
