The International Tribunal in Cambodia has formally accused the 4 former leaders of the Khmer Rouge. Those accused are the Head of State during the Cambodian regime (1975-79), Khieu Samphan; the organisation’s main ideologist, Nuon Chea, the so-called ‘No. 2 Brother’ and Pol Pot’s Deputy: his wife, Ieng Thirit, then Minister for Social Affairs; and Ieng Sary, then Minister for Foreign Affairs.
