CHINA’S MANUFACTURING ACTIVITY SLOWS DOWN IN JUNE

China’s manufacturing activity slowed down in June: the Hsbc index dropped from 52,7 to 50,4 recorded in May. A government agency reported a drop from 53.9 to 52.1 in the period of time examined. The slowdown is due to the government measures adopted against the economy’s overheating. An 11.9% increase was reported in the first quarter of 2010.
