A complete facial transplant procedure was successfully performed in Paris on a 35 year-old on 26-27 June. The recipient had a genetic disease that had disfigured his face. The transplantation involved harvesting the full face from an anonymous dead donor, including lips, eyelids, all the muscles and even the lacrimal glands.
