After a bearish start, the European markets were still in a downslide as the morning drew to a close. In London the FTSE 100 lost 1.37% to 5,226.19 points. The FTSE MIB slipped -1.52% to 20,489 points.
In Frankfurt the DAX lost 0.94% to 6,233.38 points, and in Paris the CAC 40 fell 1.45% to 3,682.01 points. Madrid (-1.63%), Lisbon (-1.13%) and Athens (-1.74%) were also negative. .
