FINI, UNREASONABLE TO DISCUSS WIRE-TAP IN JULY

Gianfranco Fini says it is unreasonable to expect the Chamber to have discussed the wire-tap bill by the end of July. According to various sources, the Speaker at the Chamber of Deputies has professed to be extremely puzzled by the scheduling of the draft law, which he described as “unreasonable” due simply to “stubbornness”. However, given the feelings of the majority of party leaders, it would have been “failing in my institutional duties” for the Speaker to have stood in its way.
