France former president Chirac will pay 550000 euros to have his fraud accusation dropped. According to the Herman Web site Deutsche Welle, the accusations refer to Chirac’s tenancy as Mayor of Paris. The ruling Gaullist party Ump, to which the current president Nicolas Sarkozy belongs, will also pay 1,65 million euros to have the same accusations dropped. Both Chirac and the Ump were accused of creating 21 false work contracts, between 1977 and 1995, defrauding the City of Paris.
