There is controversy in France over a government circular saying that Roma are the objective of deportation policies. The letter, signed by the director of the Minister of the Interior’s cabinet, Michael Bart, was sent to the police at the beginning of August identifying “specific objectives” in the Sarkozy government’s policies, but now there are some stating that this was probably illegal.
