According to German polls, the Green Party have reached the Socialdemocrats (SPD) at 24%, whereas the CDU is under 30%. The great rise in consent for the green party was revealed by the magazine ‘Stern’, which published the figures provided by the Forsa Institute. The ecologist party leaped by 2% in one week, reaching Sigmar Gabriel’s SPD, while Angela Merkel’s CDU/CSU dropped below the 30% psychological threshold. Oskar Lafontaine’s Linke is still at 10%, while Guido Westerwelle’s FDP, with its current 5%, would barely make it back to the Bundestag.
