The Romanian poet and transator Oskar Pastior was a Securitate informer. Scholar Stefan Sienerth found a statement signed by Pastior on 8 June 1961 in which he agreed to collaborate with the famous Romanian secret services. Pastior was a friend and mentor to Herta Mueller, current Holder of the Nobel Prize for Literature, and died in 2006.
