Employers’ leader, Emma Marcegaglia, commented that, “the figures for tax evasion are staggering.” The president of the employers’ federation, Confindustria, was speaking about the Study Centre report on tax evasion in Italy, which in 2009 came to 124.5 billion euro.
She said that the proceeds from the fight against evasion “must go to lowering taxes and not to cover holes in public finances. This is the real reform”.
