The Prisa Group – which owns El Pais – recorded a 123,6% increase in profits in the first semester of 2010. Profits amounted to 60.9 million Euros while sales dropped by 6% to 1.577 billion Euros and advertising revenue rose by 9.8%. Prisa, which also owns 15% of the French newspaper Le Monde, last June sold its 25% shareholding in Santillana and its 22% share in the company Digital+.
