Saipem, an Italian oil and gas company, has secured new offshore contracts for a total worth of over 1 billion EUR. According to a company communique, the operations in question will take place between now and 2012. They will be located “in the main offshore areas in which Saipem has a presence. In particular, these areas include the Caspian Sea in Kazakhi and Azeri waters, Brazil, the Middle East, Western Africa, the North Sea and Mexico.” .
