The US has requested China to eliminate the restrictions imposed upon Liu Xia, the Nobel peace winner’s wife. Since her husband was awarded the prize, Liu Xia has not been able to leave her house and cannot be reached even by telephone. “We worry about the news that Liu Xia is blocked at home in Beijing,” Richard Buangan, the spokesperson of the US Beijing embassy, said.
