The chemistry Nobel has gone to one US and 2 Japanese scientists for studies into how to link carbon atoms. Richard Heck, Ei-Ichi Negishi and Akira Suzuki conducted pioneering studies into new ways of linking carbon atoms. Their discoveries have applications in medicine, agriculture and electronics.
