A spokeswoman for the country’s national disaster management authority explained that, once the seasonal rains end, “we will be in a position to find more bodies”. In one of Pakistan’s worst hit areas, the Sindh province, about one million people have had to leave their homes over the last 48 hours, and the number of displaced people throughout the country has risen to 6 million.
