RARE GENE AFFECTING HAIR AND NAILS DISCOVERED

The gene for a rare disease that affects hair and nails has been discovered by Rome’s Bambino Gesu’ hospital. The research was a collaboration between the Mendel Institute, IDI, The Genetics Institute of Berlin, the Dermatology Department of the Algerian University of Tlemcen and the University of Marseilles. The research results were published in the American Journal of Human Genetics.
