United Russia, Putin’s party, obtained a 7% increase over the results of last March in local Russian elections. The announcement was made by Vladimir Volodin, the manager of the party’s election staff. In the polling stations, the Russian “Party of Power” comprehensively received 57% of the votes, thus partly recuperating the 10-15% drop in votes recorded in the springtime round of elections.
