Russia is shortly to supply 50 armoured vehicles to the Palestinians, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry. A spokesman, Andrei Nesterenko, said “Over the next few days, 50 armoured vehicles for the transport of troops will be delivered to Jordan and then taken to the security forces in the West Bank”. Russia had offered to supply armoured vehicles to the Palestinians for internal security back in 2005, but Israel opposed the move.
