Rocco Sabelli says Alitalia will close the first half-year with revenue up 10%. The airline’s CEO gave the news during a presentation marking Alitalia’s entry into a joint venture with Air France-KLM and Delta in Rome. According to Sabelli, who announced that the Board is to approve the first-half report at its next meeting on 30th July, passenger numbers have gone up by 9%, intercontinental routes by 3% and international routes by 13%. Flight punctuality has also improved. Financial limits are approximately 500 million euros, made up of cash and credit lines. Furthermore, according to Sabelli, there is no need for alterations to the industrial plan “we believe we can respect time frames even though there is a long road ahead of us. But no difficulties are envisaged”.
