The Senate’s Budget committee has approved Senator Antonio Azzollini’s proposal on the ‘mini-naja’ army internships. The proposal envisages, on a trial basis, allowing young people aged 18-30 to participate in technical and practical training courses with the army for no longer than 3 weeks. Aspiring recruits will take on military status and be bound by the army’s rules. Upon completion of the course, they will receive a certificate of attendance. The initiative will cost 6.5 million EUR in 2010, 5.8 million in 2011 and 7.5 million in 2012.
