Senegal’s cabinet has approved a new Press Code. The code contains directives about the status of journalists, the legal framework for newspapers and magazines, and the decriminalisation of press offences. President Abdoulaye Wade commented that now Senegal, “has all the conditions necessary for a free press.” .
