Finance Police carried out a series of arrests and seizures this morning over manipulated Trenitalia contracts. A number of Trenitalia SpA managers have been accused of manipulating and disrupting the awarding of public tenders by the public company. The tenders, illegally awarded for maintenance of carriages and locomotives, totalled more than 10 million euro. In some cases they were awarded after private and individual negotiations with companies run by relatives of one of the Trenitalia managers.
