USA: SEDENTARY AMERICANS AT INCREASED RISK OF OBESITY

Americans walk much less than people in other countries with lower levels of obesity. The magazine, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, carried out a study in the USA, Australia, Japan and Switzerlan, on a sample of 1136 people. It emerged that Americans take an average of 5117 steps per day, while Australians (the most active) take 9695. Obesity levels are respectively 34% and 16%
