USA: VACCINE PROLONGS BRAIN TUMOR SURVIVAL

A new vaccine prolongs the survival of patients affected by the most serious case of brain tumor. According to an American study published on Clinical Oncology, the vaccine targets the EGFRvIII gene that causes glioblastoma. Tested on 18 patients, it prolonged life from 15 to 26 months. Progression-free survival (PFS) was of 14.2 months, against the 6.3 months of those not subjected to treatment.
