Britain’s Emma Pooley won cycling’s women’s world time trial; Tatiana Guderzo came tenth. Germany’s Judith Arndt arrived second and New Zealander Linda Melanie Villumsen finished third. There were only a few tenths of a second separating silver and bronze medal winners. The USA’s Amber Neben came fourth, 37″66 behind, while France’s 52 year-old Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli put in another amazing performance to finish fifth.
