WORLD: KARZAI, “REPLACING MCCHRYSTAL WOULD NOT HELP” PEACE

Hamid Karzai believes that replacing General Stanley McChrystal in Afghanistan “would not be helpful” for peace.

“The President believes that we are at a delicate stage and that any interruption would not be helpful” said Waheed Omar at a press briefing in Khabul the day after the interview with the Commander of NATO troops in Afghanistan, which brought tensions between the General and the White House to the fore.
