Terrorists were on the attack today in the Yemeni capital, Sana’a. A grenade was launched near a British embassy vehicle carrying the deputy chief of the British mission and three diplomats. None of the passengers were hut but one of them was brought to a hospital in a state of shock. Three bystanders were injured. The blast took place three kilometres from the British embassy close to where a suicide bomber attacked the British ambassador’s convoy in April, injuring three people. Shortly afterwards another attack was reported at the Austrian energy giant’s Omy plant right outside the Yemeni capital. An armed man started shooting and seriously wounded a French technician. He was captured by the security forces and the area is now surrounded by military agents and the police. After the suspected Al-Qaida attack in April the british Embassy closed for two weeks.
