Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero claims that Europe’s debt crisis “is over”. Interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, he said “I think that the debt crisis that hit Spain, and Europe in general, is over. We need further convergence to boost competitiveness, and stronger principles to implement more balanced budget and economic policies. The government obviously took important decisions in this regard, which turned out to be crucial in helping the Spanish economy face the challenges of the crisis”.
