There are concerns that up to sixty pilot whales have died after they beached on New Zealand’s shores. Around one hundred volunteers struggled against bad weather to try to save the creatures stuck at Spirits Bay, on the northern tip of New Zealand’s northernmost island, 320 kilometers from Auckland.
