NEW ZEALAND: 74 WHALES BEACHED, 25 FOUND DEAD

A group of 25 pilot whales found their death on the coasts of New Zealand. After the 63 found in Kaitaia, it is the second group of cetaceans that gets beached in two months. This time, the whales found on the beach of Spirits Bay, 320 kilometers from Auckland, are 74 in all. Environmentalists and scientists are trying to save the life of another 49 although bad weather conditions make it difficult to bring them back to sea.
