WARDHA: In another incident of superstition overcoming rational thoughts, a husband killed his wife after alleging that she was practicing witchcraft. The incident happened at Kolgaon village in Seloo tehsil of Wardha, where Archana Ninawe, the mother of an 11-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter, was allegedly killed by her husband Gangadhar.
Soon after her marriage in 1997, Archana used to report torture by her in-laws and husband. Five years ago she had left her husband’s house and returned to her mother’s house in Seloo. She had also registered a complaint of torture against her husband and in-laws, and followed it up with a case for payment of maintenance.
